My story need to be told .I am a Vietnam Veteran combat artist and served in Vietnam from 1967-1969 in the Marine Corps . In a time of war, my story of pain ,agony, sorrow and honor needs to be shared with others in my community . My work is not only a healing process but educates the public about post war situations. Most of my work was done post war ,after my hospital stays but the ideas manifested themselves much earlier . I use a variety of mediums of art ,from drawing to painting,even photography to respond to these historical and personal issues . Part of my life was left in Vietnam .In this present state, soldiers are coming home , awaiting welcoming and a different life .I want to educate others about their beloved solider and about the American fighting overseas.I want people to read, respond and understand war and the parallels that exist between Vietnam and any any war-like situation .Being a Marine has defined my idenity and has been important in my art making . Stories need to be shared so that others veterans and younger,present generations can understand and a make difference . I have spent the last few years volunteering at local hospitals ,health campuses and churches trying to do my part in society , and I hope that my art will promote change in the same way . My work has been published in a book ,called Soldiers Heart,and as they read the poems, stories in the book my imagery aids in their healing experience Semper Fidlis , God is alway faithful
